It is in Furnas, in the Municipality of Povoação, on the island of São Miguel, that you can appreciate one of the most emblematic outdoor nativity scenes, set in a mystical and magical environment: the Nativity Scene of the Furnas Caldeiras.

This nativity scene began in 1976, created by a group of young people from Furnas. Since then, after being paused for two years, it annually beautifies and attracts thousands of locals and tourists to admire the more than 500 figures that make up this outdoor nativity scene.
