### Biscoitos
With its characteristic humid climate, traveling to the Azores requires suitable clothing for bathing. On Terceira, you can swim in Calheta dos Biscoitos, the largest natural pool in the region. The ocean water seems to breathe as the tide rises and falls. The surrounding area features black lava rocks, making it an excellent spot to enjoy a swim in the sea.
### Museu do Vinho dos Biscoitos
In Biscoitos, you’ll find the Museu do Vinho dos Biscoitos, a family-run wine museum and cellar open since the early 90s. A guided tour allows you to explore the surrounding vineyards. You’ll learn about the viticulture history of Terceira Island. Interestingly, the vines grow from the lava rocks, which are rich rather than fertile soil. The museum houses a fascinating collection of old winemaking tools. At the end, you can taste the delicious locally produced wines and purchase souvenirs at affordable prices.
