Access to Fajã dos Cubres is via an asphalt road carved into the rock, making the adventure even more spectacular. In the region, contact with seabirds is intense, allowing visitors to observe them in their natural habitat and follow their reproductive cycle.

### Natural Disasters and Religious Significance
The small resident population of Fajã dos Cubres has learned to live with natural disasters, especially earthquakes. In 1757, the community was completely destroyed by a seismic event. Rebuilt, the small village suffered again from another earthquake in 1980, which caused numerous damages.

These hardships have strengthened the religiosity of the local people, who annually dedicate a grand festival to Our Lady of Lourdes. The waters surrounding the local chapel are believed to have healing powers, attracting many pilgrims and devotees.

The welcoming and courageous people of Fajã dos Cubres receive visitors with open arms and offer typical dishes specific to the region. Combined with the stunning scenery, this makes Fajã dos Cubres one of the most impressive and rustic destinations in the entire archipelago. It offers a true immersion in nature and a unique, highly enjoyable sensory experience.
