Due to the typical Azorean microclimate, which features frequent winds and showers, the construction was designed to block these winds with a large wall and create several covered patios to shelter from the rain. Glass walls allow residents to enjoy the surrounding green nature.

On the upper floor, there are more enclosed and protected private rooms. The layout follows a central plan design, with a double-height living room flanked by two wings housing the kitchen and other amenities.

The house also incorporates tall chimneys typical of popular residential architecture, an interior covered patio, and access to the first floor and terrace from the other wing. The terrace/roof offers a fantastic view of the island’s northern coast. This project bears the signature of architect Bernardo Rodrigues.
