From one of its sides you can see the city of Praia da Vitória and its bay, the Air Base and the Plain of Lajes. From the other, the view is of the immense plain and its vegetation, in addition to the natural stone walls.

Viewpoints are the main attraction of Serra do Cume

To facilitate the visit to Serra do Cume, in 2008 the works on the Serra do Cume Viewpoints were completed, a fantastic work that allows observation of both sides of the geological formation.

The plains in the interior of the island are known for their “patchwork quilts”, the name given to the quadrangles separated by volcanic stone walls that house the plantations of local cultures, and which attract a lot of attention due to their geometric shape.

Observed from one of the Serra do Cume viewpoints, the landscapes display all their beauty and grandeur, uniting the strength of nature with human intervention in the region. This junction, combined with the flowers that give a special color to the plain, forms one of the most sought after landscapes on Terceira Island, considered by many visitors as the most beautiful in the region.
