It is called Cuada Village, located on the Island of Flores, and it is a place that fits the island’s isolation. Without haste, let yourself be enveloped by the sound of birds and the fragrance of fresh grass and laurel with the sweet scent of cane. Abandoned in the 1960s when its inhabitants emigrated to America, the village was revived by Teotónia and Carlos Silva, who wisely established a connection between the past and the present, restoring the rural structure of the stone houses and adapting them to current needs.

Cuada Village is part of the parish of Fajã Grande. Established in 1676, it was certainly inhabited by the early 1700s. The oldest document found was the parish record of a marriage dated November 8, 1705.
