Ladeira dos Moinhos

Ladeira dos Moinhos is a small circular trail that starts near an old bridge, close to the Igreja Matriz de São Roque. The first metres are on asphalt and, after about 80 metres, the path turns right onto a cobbled slope that follows the stream.

It is right on this climb that what gives the trail its name appears: several old mills nestled along the watercourse. After about 1.2 km you reach the top of the uphill section, where the trail returns to asphalt and turns right. There follow about 700 metres of path, with the povoação de São Roque in view.

A new right turn marks the beginning of the descent, which runs partly along the waterline and through narrow paths, wedged between stone walls. This is where you return to the starting point, completing the circuit.
