Direitas do Paço – Fajã do Santo Cristo

At Fajã de Santo Cristo, on the island of São Jorge, Direitas do Paço is a point break that breaks to the right over a rocky bottom. The walls are long and lend themselves well to manoeuvres, and when the sea arrives with medium-sized waves, the take-off happens near a rock on the outside of the pico.

The spot works best at mid-tide, with swell from north to nordeste and southerly wind, and the waves typically range between 1 and 3 metres. It is a consistent pico of great quality, but it is designed for those with experience: the recommended level ranges from intermediate to advanced.

Access is on foot, and entry and exit from the water happen through a small cove, the same one used for launching boats. It is a good reference point for those coming to surf here for the first time.
