Baixio da Vila

Baixio da Vila is a reef break in São Miguel where the wave breaks to the left over a rocky bottom. It’s a long left and great fun, though not particularly hollow, and it’s precisely this mellow character that makes it ideal for relaxed SUP and longboard sessions. Pay attention to an important detail: the spot only works at high tide.

The best conditions arrive with southern swell and wind from the north quadrant to nordeste, with waves around 1 to 2 metres. It’s a pico with high demand among local surfers, especially those taking their first steps, but it suits all levels, from beginners to experienced.

When the wind blows strongly from east or west, the scenario changes and Baixio da Vila gains fantastic conditions for windsurfing. Access is by car, without complications.
