Pico Island is the most larger island of the Azores Archipelago. Has a surface of 447 km. It measures 42 km long and 20 km wide. It owes its name to the majestic volcanic mountain (Pico Mountain). It is the highest mountain in Portugal and a third largest mountain that emerges from the Atlantic, reaching 2,351 meters of altitude.
