Terceira Island

As its name suggests, it was the third island to be discovered in the Azores Archipelago, following Santa Maria and São Miguel.

The island of Terceira is approximately 29 km long and 18 km wide, with a perimeter of 90 km and an area of 402.2 km2. The highest point on the island is at an altitude of 1,022 m and is located in the Serra de Santa Bárbara, on the western side.
